About Clair Obscur
Clair Obscur is a curated world shaped by contrast—between light and shadow, past and present, memory and presence.
Founded by Lara Masolo, the studio is the natural extension of a lifelong devotion to beauty, history, and the quiet power of objects. After an academic background in the arts, Lara worked in film as an Art Director and Concept Artist, collaborating on international productions and award-winning scenography. Alongside her work in cinema, she cultivated a deep passion for photography, spatial composition, and the emotional power of objects.
An incurable nostalgist, she has spent years traveling, studying, and collecting—gathering objects from different eras and places, each chosen with care, intuition, and affection. Clair Obscur is rooted in the belief that quality endures, that beauty has meaning, and that objects carry the soul of the spaces they inhabit.
Inspired by the Renaissance masters of chiaroscuro and the intimate tenebrism of Georges de La Tour, the studio embraces contrast as a language: light emerging from shadow, history returning to converse with the present. Timeless pieces from different epochs coexist in quiet harmony, united by elegance, material honesty, and lived stories.
